How to use Split PDF
- Add your PDF. Thumbnails of every page appear below the options.
- Choose what you want: Extract selected pages into one new PDF, Split by ranges such as 1-3, 4-6, or Every page separately.
- Click pages or type numbers like 1-3, 5, 8-10, then press the button. Several files are delivered as one .zip.
About this tool
People usually reach for this when a 60-page report has to be trimmed to the six pages someone actually asked for, or when a scanned bundle needs to be separated into individual documents. You see every page as a thumbnail, so you do not have to guess which number is which.
Extract mode keeps the order you type, so 3, 1, 2 gives you those pages reordered. Need to remove pages instead of keeping them? Delete PDF Pages is quicker. To put files back together, use Merge PDF.
Good to know
- Password-protected PDFs need to be unlocked first.
- Splitting into many files produces a .zip so your browser does not have to download dozens of separate files.
- Bookmarks and form fields may not carry over to the new files.
Split PDF: frequently asked questions
How do I extract only certain pages from a PDF?
Choose "Extract selected pages", click the pages you want (or type them, for example 2-4, 9), then press Extract. You get one new PDF with just those pages.
Can I split a PDF into single pages?
Yes. Choose "Every page separately" and you will get one PDF per page, packed in a .zip file.
Does splitting change how the pages look?
No. Pages are copied as they are, so text and images stay the same.
What does "split by ranges" do?
Every range you type becomes its own PDF. For example 1-3, 4-6, 7-10 creates three files.
